Old Youth Band Plus (Stary Zespół Młodzieżowy Plus)
In 1987, two youth choirs which performed during services held at the parish church of Our Lady of the Scapular in Warka joined forces. Initially guided by Fr. Andrzej Kwaśnik (content) and Fr. Jerzy Wikieł (music), current members are Aldona Rzeźnik (guitar), Jacek Domański (guitar), Irena Domańska (voice), Beata Ragan (voice), and Monika Wojciechowska (voice). After years devoted to music and singing, with time, the artists became more focused on their families. They would, however, often come together, and perform during prayers of the Rosary, Stations of the Cross, and wedding ceremonies. A true breakthrough came during a caroling event at the church of Our Lady of the Scapular in Warka, where they adopted the name Old Youth Band. During the caroling event the following year, their children became the true stars and added the “Plus” to what became the official name of the band. Its most dedicated members are Kuba Domański, Michał Rzeźnik and Zosia Wojciechowska.
Old Youth Band Plus cooperates with the Municipal Cultural Institution “Manor at Długa Street,” where it performed during its own live events entitled: “The mountains hold everything I hold dear” (“W górach jest wszystko, co kocham”), “Caroling is upon us” (“Idzie kolęda”), and “Blah, blah, blah, about love” (“Ble, ble, ble o miłości”). In 2015, the Old Youth Band Plus performance was part of a series of Catholic music concerts “Sing at Farna Street” (“Śpiewaj przy Farnej”), where it presented a word-and-music program entitled “Looking at the Cross” (“Patrząc na Krzyż”), in addition to performing during the opening of a mountain photography exhibition by Paweł Rzeźnik.
