Violinist, composer, and poet Adam Jarzębski is born in Warka.

1596

Roman Catholic Cardinal Henryk Gaetano visits Warka.

Warka prides itself on its seven churches and two monasteries.

1607

Mikołaj Zebrzydowski, after a contemporary engraving

Zebrzydowski’s Rebellion (rokosz Zebrzydowskiego) against King Sigismund III Vasa, named after its leader Mikołaj Zebrzydowski, reaches Warka.

1616

Hungarian traveler M. Csombor visits Warka after it was severely damaged by fire.

1628

Franciscans settle in Warka.

1650

The Dominican monastery and 250 houses are damaged in a fire.

The Polish Army under the command of Hetman Stefan Czarniecki and Prince Jerzy Lubomirski defeats Swedish troops at Warka during the so-called Swedish Deluge.

1660

An inventory of the King’s lands in and around Warka shows the vastness of damage associated with the Swedish Deluge.

Blessed Rafał Melchior Chyliński serves in the Franciscan monastery.

1732

Joseph Pulaski purchases Warka lands.

1765

Warka has 24 houses (in addition to buildings that are beyond repair) and its residents are destitute.

1777

The number of houses in Warka grows to 82.

1785

Teodor Sadowski is named Warka Mayor.

1787

King Stanisław August Poniatowski visits Warka and Winiary.

1789

Warka residents hold the so-called Black Procession, demanding the restoration and expansion of rights for the bourgeoisie.

1794

The Highest Commander-in-Chief of the National Armed Forces Tadeusz Kościuszko pitches camp in Warka with his army.
